SMU Graduates at Intermarine
November 17, 2009
Intermarine has serviced the Far East for almost two decades and established its office in Shanghai in 2004. During the last 5 years, the company has expanded and staffed the office primarily with graduates from the Shanghai Maritime University (SMU). Considered the main authority in maritime education in Southern China, SMU specializes in shipping technology, economics, and management.
“We have found the graduates of SMU to be knowledgeable, professional and most importantly willing to assume responsibility,” commented Richard Seeg. “The programs offered by SMU go far beyond our core focus of shipping technology. However, of great benefit to us is the fact that their business and management curriculums are taught with a perspective on shipping.” As a result, more than a dozen employees in the Intermarine Shanghai office are graduates from SMU.
Intermarine has become one of the world’s most reliable project and heavy lift carriers because of its belief that it is the people more than the ships that make cargo move safely and on time. SMU has provided the people that allow this belief to become reality. Intermarine offers multiple sailings per month between the Far East, India and the Arabian Gulf.
